Maple Leaf Education North America is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic Recruitment Assistant to join the team at our Headquarters in Downtown Vancouver. Maple Leaf Education North America Ltd (MLENA) is a wholly owned subsidiary of China Maple Leaf Educational Systems (CMLES). It has a range of educational operations throughout Canada and US, including establishing new independent schools, further teacher recruitment initiatives, international and domestic student recruitment, short term tours and camps and other educational initiatives.
Location: Downtown Vancouver, BC
Start date: Immediate to September 15, 2018
Compensation package: Competitive
Requirements: University degree or current student; Fluently bilingual in English and Mandarin. Must be Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident or hold valid work permit under PGWPP (not applied to Current Student Candidate). Special consideration will be given to alumni of Maple Leaf schools in China.
Profile: Responsible, dependable and adaptable and resourceful. Task and detail oriented, organized, team-worker.
Skills: Verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese, organization, conflict resolution, calm under pressure, and bilingual (English and Chinese).
Experience: Experience with computer based systems, including excel and other database programs and experience dealing with people via telephone and email are essential for this position
Responsibility: Work with Teacher Recruitment Manager to prepare all newly hired teachers to meet the requirements to obtain the foreign work permit and visa for China through the collection and recording of all required documents. Work with Chinese colleagues and local travel agencies to prepare teacher travel arrangements to China, including: 1. Developing a detailed understanding of Chinese foreign expert work permit and visa requirements and maintain up to date information regarding any changes 2. Help to collect all documents required for work permit application and load into HR system 3. Communicate regularly with Chinese based Foreign Affairs Director and Secretaries for updates on work permit requirements generally and in each school location 4. Communicate with individual teachers related to problem solving with specific issues 5. Receive teacher work permit approvals and submit them to the Chinese Consulate or visa service agency as required 6. Work with Chinese based Foreign Affair Secretaries and contracted airlines to make flight bookings for newly hired teachers 7. Meet departing teachers at airport to deliver returned passports and other necessary documents
