Hardware EngineerJob SummaryThe Hardware Engineer is under the direction of the R&Dmanager to design electronic circuit and system that can realize and implementthe project-specified functions. This person works closely with softwareengineers, and mechanical engineers to make sure the project meets the designspecification and deadline.Responsibilities and Duties1. Search for components with good quality and low prices.2. Request, test and approve component samples.3. Build a test circuit to approve the design principle.4. Draw Schematics. Make sure they have corrected componentvalue, package, footprint, and pin assignment according to manufacturer's datasheetbefore releasing it to the PCB designer to layout the PCB.5. Develop firmware with C or assembly language.6. Provide a detailed description (word document) of the interface protocol to the high-level software.7. Build product prototypes to verify hardware and firmware design.8. Generate bill of material (BOM) list with suppliers' contact information, full part number, and reference price.9. Verify PCB layout.10. Participate technical seminars, forums, trainings and new product or new technology shows.11. Study and research new technologies and components to keep pace of electronic technical development.12. Make research and development presentations according to the R&D manager's assignment of study.13. Provide any technical assistance requested by the R&D manager.Qualifications and Skills1. Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering or Computer Science.2. Two years of the electronic device and system design experience.3. Self-motivated and a good team player.5. Familiar with electronic circuit design tools such as Altium.6. Familiar with C or assembly language and some commonly used communication protocols like RS232, I2C, SPI, and USB.7. Good communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.8.
