The position is responsiblefor daily operational IT tasks required to maintain a mid-size network ofusers, servers and services. Responsibilities:
- Be the first point of contact for technical assistance over the phone or email
- Daily operational tasks for internet facing infrastructure (HTTPS, DNS, SMTP, FTP, Exchange)
- Daily operational tasks for adding and removing DNS records, Shares, SSL certificates, Firewall rules, Domain users and groups (Microsoft Active Directory)
- Manage devices including PCs, user services, Windows and Linux servers for a production telecom network
- Adding monitoring of servers and processes using the monitoring system
- Managing operational processes related to Microsoft 365 admin center - Exchange, Teams, and SharePoint
- Support for local station issues as well as some remote branch support
- Following best security practices, firewall and Anti-virus (BitDefender)
- VPN user addition & troubleshoot issues
- Troubleshooting server/workstation/network issues
- Ticket review and escalation to other departments or third parties for support
- Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel
- Manage/Renew SSL certificates, Servers warranty, MS365 Reports, load balancers
- Manage Local virtualization platforms (ESXi/XenCenter/Proxmox) and Online virtualization platform (Azure/ AWS) familiar with management UI and related tools (Cloud PowerShell)
- Inventory management and documentation
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience working with Windows and Linux in a business environment
- Strong Troubleshooting skills with a strong passion for learning new skills and technologies
- Advanced knowledge of Linux OS (CentOS, Debian, RHEL)
- Advanced knowledge of services such as DNS, HTTPS, SMTP and FTP
- Advanced knowledge of firewalls, VPN and VLAN and subnetting.
- Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP and related Internet Protocols
- Knowledge of MS365, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Azure, Dynamics365
- Knowledge of SAN/NAS (Dell EMC Powerstore/Compellent, QNAP)
- Advanced knowledge of Xen & VMWare virtual clustering environment an asset.
- Advanced understanding of IT architectures and technologies
- Scripting experience (Bash, Perl, PowerShell)
- Experience with Zabbix monitoring systems or similar
- Good experience with Microsoft Active directory
- Experience with Docker, OpenVPN is considered an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, verbal and written.
- Excellent skills at writing documentation and diagrams
- Good English written and spoken a must.
